Czech Republic: Another U-turn for the two-faced 🎭🤹 PM Andrej Babis.
He tries to appear as a ‘Visegrad guy’ to Czechs but then bends his knees to please Macron and his allies in Brussels.
* The Czech government calls on EU economic recovery plan and long-term budget to fall in line with EU ‘man on the moon’ Green Deal manifesto of Frans Timmermans and Ursula von der Leyen.
The EU audit conducted by EU Parliament last month must have spooked Babis.
However, one should not be surprised considering his alliance with Guy Verhofstadt and the Benelux feminists (Macron, Michel, Rutte, Bettel) of Renew Europe.
It was bad enough that he supported nomination of Open Society cheerleader Vera Jourova as EU Commissioner, but now – just two months after proclaiming to Czechs that “Europe should forget about the Green Deal now and focus on the coronavirus instead” – Babis is sending another message to Brussels.
– A draft statement from the Czech government calls on the EU economic recovery plan and long-term budget to fall in line with the European Green Deal, marking a U-turn from Prague’s earlier positions.
“The Czech Republic continues to support the EU’s long-term target to achieve climate neutrality by 2050,” said the draft statement, which the government is expected to approve on Monday (25 May).
Václav Klaus Jr. was quick to respond that the Green Deal is “the road to poverty and the liquidation of industry…Babis masterfully screams ‘for the people’ to the media the words of criticism, but the government confirmed to Brussels that the Czechs are in. And this is how it is with everything.”
** The problem in Czechia is the opposition; it is just so weak and the choices are very slim. This is how ANO prospers, not from any strong programs or loyalty, but due to the low quality of the competition and political class.
The ODS has never recovered from loss of Klaus Sr. or the two disgraced clowns (Topolanek, Necas) they produced as PMs.
Hopefully, Klaus and other national conservatives can rebuild the right into a solid and united force to challenge the liberals and EU federalists of ANO.
