– The aim of the directive, the liberal European Parliament says, is to prevent terrorists from gaining arms easily. However, this statement is naive, absurd and completely void of any data to back their claims. Critics are correct to point out that the EU diktat restricts the owners and the market of legally-held arms, and strongly infringes on the internal affairs of the European nation states.

– Interior Minister Milan Chovanec said such a massive punishment for decent weapons holders is unacceptable because the ban on legally-held weapons has no connection with the fight against terrorism. There were massive protests in the Czech Republic against this infringement.
Poland also voted against the measure.

The V4 Report believes this is about the right to bear arms and the freedom of sovereign nation states to determine their internal policies regarding security. We urge all V4 and CEE states to join the Czechs in fighting this attempt by the EU to undermine their independence.
