France 🤔: There must be an election coming soon if Macron starts to talk tough on migration…most realize he is a fraud.
– With municipal elections just months away, Macron has begun talking tough on immigration, especially on the perceived abuses of France’s generous social welfare system, hoping to keep Le Pen’s party, formerly known as the National Front, at bay.
Wow, Macron says new migrants will not qualify for health benefits for three months…but does anyone think that they will be denied care if they enter a hospital? This is not a deterrent to keep African migrants from entering France, but merely more fluff.
Plus, it’s one thing to dismantle ‘migrant slums’, but this does little without next step of deporting the migrants OUTSIDE of Europe.
Typical Macron, but the V4 Report prefers to look at results to see if Macron actually “walks his talk”.
Case in point: Nearly 124,000 migrants requested asylum in France last year, a record number and an increase of 23% from the previous year. The requests came mainly from Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan and France’s former African colonies, but also from Albania and Georgia.
The increase in asylum seekers has exacerbated housing problems, overwhelming shelters established by the government.
This does not sound like anyone, including the President, has made France unattractive for migrants.
Macron talks of deportations but – like Germany – this mainly consists of shuffling illegals around within the EU, rather than deporting the migrants outside of Europe or back to Africa. It’s merely a game of “musical chairs” and accomplishes nothing; the migrants are still left to roam Europe.
But one can do the math. If France is receiving 125,000 asylum requests in one year (does not count illegals who do not apply for asylum) but only deporting 28,000 per year, this is not exactly what we call “getting tough” on migration, especially considering the already frightening demographics in France.
It’s just not Macron who plays this game, but others as well. Germany has perfected the practice of offering useless measures to try to reassure the public, while the net number of arrivals always increases.
At this point, France and Germany are quite predictable. They are even directly assisting with illegal trafficking by offering to take in illegals from the NGO migrant boats.
Just a few weeks ago, the German and French Interior Ministers took their ‘road show’ to Greece to offer solutions. Meanwhile, the migrant arrivals continue to surge in Greece, and they are still not sending “all irregulars” back to Turkey. In fact, they are transferring more migrants to the mainland.
Some things never change in the EU, which, despite the theatrics, remains focused on committing Europe to mass migration.
The numbers don’t lie. Arrivals are far outpacing returns…this is called the multiplication effect, which continues to intensify.
* Whatever you say Macron 🤨.
