* Greece: The Greek asylum chief has called on the European Union to resettle “several hundred thousand” migrants a year directly from the Middle East. With such divergent views on migration and multiculturalism across Europe, the EU will not endure in its present form.
** “That’s the number of people coming into Europe anyway,” Maria Stavropoulou who has overseen Greece’s Asylum Service since it was founded in 2013, said on Thursday.
What a pathetic statement by Greece. Have they surrendered? This seems to imply that Greece will allow others to control their destiny. Do they not understand that they have an obligation to secure the border, instead of just “waving-through” unknown, aggressive male migrants to others?
*** Despite the agreement to pay Erdogan to take back “all non-Syrian irregulars” entering Europe via Turkey, Greece is not sending the migrants back. As a result, the huge backlog of migrants in Greece (37,000 this year alone) continues to build and migrant “roaming” is on the rise.
The leaders of Greece are exposing all in Europe to Islamic terrorism and other dangers. Indeed, the terrorists have already exploited the migrant route in Greece to facilitate earlier attacks in Western Europe. The Greek government must take action to relocate the migrants back to Turkey, instead of foolishly taking in more migrants.
**** We simply do not believe the EU is sustainable. As the V4 Report wrote on June 12, 2016, “The members that comprise the EU – their values and culture – are too far apart to come up with an ‘EU solution’ regarding migration…..and there are many more challenges ranging from vastly different economies to contrasting views on Islam.”
The Mediterranean states and Angela Merkel do not believe in securing the borders or deportation. Their solution entails unlimited migration and endless relocation quotas. The V4 states want the borders sealed and the illegal migrants deported.
There will be no “EU solution” to migration. There was never any European solidarity for mass Muslim migration, open-borders and multiculturalism. This was a “slogan” invented by Angela Merkel to suit her agenda.
The EU will have to break. We believe the future of Europe will be smaller, less-intrusive regional alliances that better reflect the values and beliefs of its people.
The EU Core has chosen a “fast track” headed down the wrong path. The V4 nations have a better alternative. It’s time for Visegrad and the CEE states to strengthen such alliances as the V4 and to build their own regional foundation via the Three Seas Initiative.
Ninety percent (90%) of the world’s growth will occur outside of the EU this century. The V4 and CEE states are emerging markets and must be able to act in accordance with their best interests without the approval of the socialist bureaucrats in Brussels.
Onward V4! It’s time to build your own Core foundation in Central Europe.
