V4 Report: Austria 🇦🇹. “Operation Ranscho”: Minister of the Interior Herbert Kickl traveled to Budapest on Friday for talks. In addition to “political thaw”, a major strike against a smuggling gang was presented.
Since August of the previous year ran the joint “Operation Ranscho” of the Federal Criminal Police Office with German and Hungarian colleagues and the special forces. A total of 29 suspects – all with Iraqi roots – are said to have flown 1000 compatriots or “customers” from Iran via the then not yet closed Western Balkans route to Austria.
Up to 8,000 euros per capita are said to have been collected from the illegals – so a million dollar business!
Interior Minister Kickl in conversation with the “Crown”: “The investigations reveal the fundamental problems in the EU asylum policy and the border management, because most of the suspects came to Austria in the wake of the wave of integration in 2015 and have sought asylum here!”
The majority of these illegals were covered by the minimum income guarantee and received up to € 900 support each month!
