V4 Report: The threats are endless. “Big Brother” Brussels cannot keep its hands off the European nation states as the EU targets the sovereignty and independence of Poland 🇵🇱.
Is this a preview of a future life inside the EU? After Poland, who will Brussels target next? Is the EU a true representative of Europe or are its leaders pursuing their own political agendas or that of other interested parties? Are so-called “EU values” the type of standards one would desire for their children? Are the Eurocrats in Brussels good role models for Europe’s next generations?
As Brussels seeks to expand its scope and power across Europe, perhaps its time for the leaders of Visegrad, Italy and the CEE nation states to re-examine the agenda and values of the global institution that seeks to rule over them.
** An organization representing the EU’s judiciaries has moved to suspend the Polish Council for the Judiciary (KRS) on the alleged basis it lacks independence from the executive in Warsaw.
The board of the European Network of Councils of the Judiciary (ENCJ) put forward the proposal to suspend its Polish member, to be voted on at a meeting September 17.
Chairman of the KRS Leszek Mazur told Polish news site Onet: “We consider these actions as unauthorized and unjust.” Stating that a decision to exclude Polish judges “would be extremely regrettable,” Mazur said, “Let us hope that we will be able to appeal against such a decision.”
After Mazur raised concerns about “undue process” in the decision-making process, he added: “Even if the Polish National Judiciary Council was excluded from the ENCJ, it would not have any impact on the possible recognition of judgments of Polish courts in Europe.”
*** With Brexit on the horizon, America knocking on the door and China looking to expand its reach, the EU should be very careful about pushing this emerging economic and political power too far.
German businesses which profit very handsomely from their “investments” in Poland cannot be thrilled with this prospect. The EU would be very “small” without Britain or Poland in the future, especially if some of the CEE/Three Seas nation states follow Poland.
It’s not as if Germany can afford to sever economic ties with Poland. Relying on a “core group” of economic basket-cases such as France, Spain, Portugal and Greece just won’t cut it for Germany.
It’s time for others (besides a loyal Hungary) in Visegrad and the CEE nation states to support Poland against the assaults from Brussels. Without a strong Poland, these states would be even more vulnerable to being dominated by Brussels, Berlin and Paris.
Is this the “way of life” – as mere subjects to Brussels and Germany – that they envision for their futures…or are they willing to defend their culture and freedoms from the heavy hand of the EU?
We believe it’s time to “stand with Poland” and the integrity of the European nation state.
