Desperation from the EU media as they continue to reach for the bottom with baseless attacks on Poland.
Politico Europe and axel springer EN continue to display “bottom-shelf” journalism with their ignorance of Poland. Who funds and enables Politico? What is the agenda behind the Paris-based author’s words?
This article had many holes and was an obvious “reach”, but we were struck by the author’s (Paul Taylor) wild claim that Poland is becoming “isolated” in Europe due to its growing friendship with America. The author needs to realize that Europe is bigger than France and Germany.
With over 90% of the world’s growth during the next decades set to occur outside of the EU, Poland and others will have to expand their opportunities beyond “mighty” Luxembourg and Portugal.
Does Politico really believe Poland would be foolish enough to rely on Germany and the EU for its security and freedom?
Far from “isolated”, Poland is an emerging economic and political power in Europe. Poland is the leader of the Three Seas Initiative that includes twelve EU nations.
Those participating in the initiative include the three Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), the countries in the Visegrad group (Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary), as well as Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania.
Even the German government – vehemently opposed to this Initiative last summer – is now said to be interested in becoming a “partner country”. (Please see link below).
“If the remaining member countries also respond positively to the German request, Berlin may send a representative to attend an upcoming summit of Three Seas Initiative,” Poland’s Krzysztof Szczerski said, as quoted by the PAP news agency.
Moreover, Poland is one of the strongest members of the Visegrad Group, which not only changed the entire debate on migration inside of Europe, but also managed to adjust Berlin’s attitude.
Does this sound like “isolation” for Poland in Europe?
Neither Brussels or the German media can isolate a rising Poland. Poland is strong and they will have much to say about the future of Europe. The President of France may not be thrilled, but Macron can do little to stop this and will just have to get used to France’s reduced role in Europe.
If Macron keeps up his foolish attacks on Central Europe and Italy, he may soon find himself isolated from Europe.
As for Politico, it seems to be a gathering center for spiteful, low-talent reporters who depend on the system in Brussels. Most display an unhealthy resentment towards Poland and Visegrad; however, others are starting to fully realize its mission is to promote the agenda of Brussels, which is often at odds with the best interests of Europe.
There is a big difference between the EU and Europe.
