Italy’s Matteo Salvini claims the EU is run by France and Germany as Brussels only seems to serve their interests.
The former president of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, even suggested that the EU change its name to the Merkel-Macron Union (MMU). The V4 Report agrees…at least the word “European” would no longer be misrepresented.
The row between Italy and France is becoming increasingly bitter as Salvini continues to challenge the integrity of Brussels and certain French agitators, who are extremely full of themselves. Few are as embarrassing and vain as Eurocrat Pierre Moscovici, who is another overrated piece of “dead weight” whose time has long passed.
A former member of the Trotskyist Revolutionary Communist League, Moscovici is a far-left socialist (i.e., a communist) and has no business making decisions for Europe. Is this the face of Brussels?
– EU Economic and Financial Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici (France) scolded Italy, demanding that they present a new budget proposal within three weeks. This sounds a lot like Frans Timmermans lecturing Poland on its judicial reform.
Imagine an EU Clerk from France vetoing a new budget proposal designed by leaders in Italy who were elected by Italians? Only weeks ago, Moscovici was labeling Salvini as a “little Mussolini”. Does one believe the French Eurocrat has the best interests of Italy in mind or is he trying to destabilize the new Italian government for the EU’s (or France’s) own purposes?
Salvini brushed off the threat of EU sanctions.
Salvini claimed the EU is run by France and Germany: “They have sanctioned us thousands of times. They have massacred our agriculture, our fishing, our commerce. But France and Germany haven’t respected the EU parameters for years.“
“If there is a rule that tells you that on Wednesdays you wear white, on Wednesdays you wear white. If I wear white, and the French wear yellow, and the Germans wear blue but then they sanction me, the only idiot who respects the rules, I am then led to believe that the Franco-German European Union only serves the interests of France and Germany.”
** The threat of sanctions and punishments, particularly from the charlatans leading France, is quite the common theme of the EU these days. Brussels is giving new meaning to the definition of “solidarity”.
However, they are meeting fierce resistance from both Italy and the Visegrad states. The governments of Berlin and Paris are not only losing ground at home, but they are quickly losing influence and respect in Europe.
