A member of the Lega Party says Italy should back out of UN Migration Deal.
The debate begins in Italy regarding the UN-EU blitz for “safe, orderly and regular” migration. Germany and the ‘Friends of Merkel Club’ thought they could push the measure through with little debate; however, mainstream Europe is starting to rebel against the UN Compact.
Merkel and EU Minister Federica Mogherini wanted “EU solidarity” on the Pact, but not all of its members think like sheep. So far Hungary, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic have indicated that they will opt-out of the compact. Italy could follow soon.
Gianluca Savoini, a member of Italy’s Lega party, believes that Italy should not sign the UN global migration pact that may threaten the country’s sovereignty and the nation’s cultural and religious identity.
* We are surprised that we have not heard more debate from Italy regarding this UN Compact, which will put heavy pressure on nations to avoid using detainment as a deterrent.
Italy and Australia would both be very wise to reject this compact. Who needs the EU Fairy Godmother when Turkish Airlines has committed to the UN Compact?
