Update on Belgium/UN Migration Compact: Can’t keep Charles away from the EU-UN Ball in Morocco.

What is it with these Benelux leaders? It looks like they all drank too much of the tea from the Istanbul Convention.

– After the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), a nationalist and conservative political party in Belgium, said they would refuse to sign the United Nations Pact on Migration, PM Charles Michel threw a hissy fit, and vowed to go to Morocco himself to sign the UN Compact despite its rejection by one of his coalition partners.

The attitude of the N-VA had made Charles “furious” (What would Brussels think?), fearing the emergence of the image of a country influenced by others from the right who opposed the deal. We guess Charles is not embarrassed by his inability to think on his own…without first consulting with the EU authorities.

But one has to remember the PM’s background. The pampered Michel comes from Eurocrat roots and is one of the model EU feminist leaders of Brussels.

The Prime Minister said he intends to go himself to Marrakech where his sources said the opposing Secretary of State for Asylum Theo Francken “will be allowed to join…to carry the suitcases of Charles Michel.” (Charles looks like someone who needs help carrying his suitcases.)

Islamic jihadists can terrorize Belgium, but Charles seems to reserve his greatest scorn for those who reject the multicult agenda and group think of Brussels.

We do not know how this will turn out but there seems to be two choices left. Either the N-VA will submit and accept the demands of Michel, or it will be assumed that they no longer want to be part of the government.

Either way, Michel is one of those EU fanatics who would no doubt choose a government crisis over missing out on the EU/UN circus in Morocco.

We will see what happens…but remember this is Belgium, well-known for its No-Go-Zones and “citizen jihadists”. If they have not learned their lessons from the past, it is likely they will keep repeating the same mistakes.

We hope Theo Francken and the N-VA stay strong. After all, what is the point of being part of a government if one has to sacrifice his convictions and principles.
