PM Andrej Babis of Czech Republic says Visegrad wants next EU President “who likes our region, who likes the Visegrad Four.” Is this possible?
PM Andrej Babis of Czech Republic says Visegrad wants next EU President “who likes our region, who likes the Visegrad Four. That it be somebody who won’t propose any quotas, who won’t counsel us as to who should live in our country, and who will not push illegal migration, which we have repeatedly rejected.”
This is great…but this candidate may not be possible, given the West EU blocs alarming and rapid lurch to the Left. Greens, Socialists, Verhofstadt liberals/EU federalists and Merkel’s EPP will attempt to force so-called EU “values” and its agenda on Central Europe.
At some point, Visegrad, others in CE and Italy’s Salvini may stop banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out how to reform the EU.
Given the demographics and mentality of Western European leaders and these EU socialist zealots, this may not be possible. Maybe I grew up in another generation, but I find the behavior of EU “feminist males” (seem to be heavy supporters of Macron, Timmermans) somewhat shocking…as if they are embarrassed of their gender.
Regardless, some things just don’t go together.
With a few minor adjustments, the Three Seas model is something to strengthen and build upon. The alternative is scary.
