Yet, the new leader of the CSU is an absolute clown and an easy pushover for Merkel’s CDU.

Sometimes, we believe the CSU’s whole existence centers around enabling Angela Merkel and the Grand Coalition, which, of course, is how they maintain their power.  The CSU stands for nothing and clearly lost its soul in 2015.

Typical of a German-CSU “conservative” (an oxymoron), Seehofer did his best to spin events claiming, “After Salvini met with the AfD and Marine Le Pen, political agreements with him were no longer possible for me. At least not beyond what is normal cooperation between countries. A basis for trust is hardly possible.”

Trust?  Seehofer and Germany?  This is what Austria and Sweden did in 2015. Words cannot describe the deception of the Grand Coalition.

Seehofer’s idea of “normal cooperation” between countries was to send back Germany’s migrants to Italy.  It’s all about Germany’s needs and they will decide the definition of solidarity, or when Dublin can be suspended or renewed.

Seehofer fails to mention that it was Salvini who rejected this insane deal (Austria did as well) and that Salvini and Le Pen (in the same EU grouping) had met long before Seehofer was looking for “political agreements” (sending migrants to Italy) with Salvini.

As for the interview, if Seehofer was not retiring, it sounds as if he would like to join up with the Greens. 😂

The CSU of Bavaria is all but dead…good riddance. They are a disgrace and an obstacle to change.  Maybe Germany needs to hit rock bottom before a real centre-right party can emerge to challenge the establishment in Germany.

Ditto for Berlin’s base, the EPP, in Brussels.  More than ever, we are convinced that in order to change Europe that the EPP (CSU-CDU base) must be severely weakened and repudiated.
