* Biden stands firm (despite the war calls from the usual suspects of the discredited neocon cabal and other reckless amateurs) against no-fly zones in Ukraine …and Americans agree with him, especially once they become aware of what they really mean. – In other words, the public largely agrees with the Biden administration, which has consistently opposed a no-fly zone for this very reason, once the reasoning is made clear.👇 “The idea that we’re going to send in offensive equipment and have planes and tanks and trains going in with American pilots and American crews — just understand, don’t kid yourself, no matter what y’all say, that’s called World War III,” said Biden. – Nearly 6 in 10 Americans (59%) now agree with Biden’s vow not to “send U.S. troops into Ukraine,” up from 56% two weeks ago. Instead, very large majorities support various steps the U.S. has already taken. The media and neocon establishment (including war extremist Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, who manipulated fake intel from a guy named “Curveball” to justify the invasion of Iraq) have pushed the administration to block Russian jets from entering Ukrainian airspace. At first the media tried a little manipulation themselves: When Yahoo News and YouGov asked half of respondents whether they support or oppose “U.S. troops enforcing a no-fly zone over Ukraine” — with no added context — supporters (40%) outnumbered opponents (25%), reflecting this impulse. But those numbers changed dramatically when the other half of respondents were told a no-fly zone means “the U.S. military would shoot down Russian military planes flying over Ukraine, possibly triggering a war between the U.S. and Russia.” In that case, support plummeted by nearly half (to 23%) while opposition nearly doubled (to 43%) — and the biggest shift came among Republicans, who went from supporting a no-fly zone by a 22-point margin (48% to 26%), to opposing it by a 38-point margin (55% to 17%). ** The US must not get dragged into a military conflict with Russia over Ukraine by leaders of other countries or discredited neocons, who have already exported enough global destruction. From rest of the article, Americans are not pro-Putin at all and support Ukraine, but clearly this has limits. They do not believe a war with Russia in Ukraine is in America’s best interests. *** But what about those EU countries that have legitimate concerns regarding a war in their region and neighborhood? We do not question their thinking or emotions …but do they always have to depend on the US to act if they feel something represents a security risk to them in their region? Moreover, it is dangerous for them to follow the path of the US neocon. The UK, Poland and some other EU countries calling for more action in Ukraine may want to form some sort of military alliance outside of NATO that excludes America for these situations where national security interests may differ. This way, the EU or an alliance of European nations could decide on their own how to militarily intervene – if they feel it’s necessary – in the regional and ancient conflicts in their neighborhood. But don’t push the Golden Goose too far. The current NATO members calling to admit Ukraine and others as new members should be careful what they wish for. Americans may start to sour on NATO if they start to view it as a mechanism to involve it in the quarrels and wars of other nations (like Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Kosovo etc) that do not involve its national interests. The EU needs to realize that they cannot rely on outside foreign powers forever to defend its own borders, whether this involves illegal migration (Turkey, Libya, African countries, etc) or defense (USA). At some point, the EU needs to graduate from the US defense rolls…and learn how to support and defend themselves. https://news.yahoo.com/poll-americans-warm-to-bidens-approach-on-russia-and-ukraine-125641393.html
