Czech Republic President Miloš Zeman: I stand in solidarity with Hungary.

“The Czech Republic has to oppose sanctions against Hungary, because we could be the next in line,” Zeman said in an interview for TV Barrandov.

The V4 Report strongly agrees with Zeman’s statement and has consistently taken the position that if the EU is able to establish a precedent by punishing Hungary or Poland…then other European nation states will soon find themselves as the next targets, particularly the V4 states and Italy.

Zeman said that the Czechs must stand in solidarity with Hungary because it is defending itself from being politically streamlined and regulated by the EU.

It is only a matter of time when such attempts will involve Poland or Slovakia. Thus, it is in the Czech Republic’s best interest to stand up against it now, not to end up in the same situation, Zeman said.

Zeman may be old, but he possesses keen instincts and a hard sense of reality. When the Prague elite and lobbyists for Berlin tried to pressure the Czech Republic on migrant quotas, Zeman’s early and strong opposition was critical.

Zeman knew that once the door was opened that it would be virtually impossible to close. Once flooded with migrants, like Sweden and France, it may already be too late to reverse the damage.

As with migration, Zeman realizes that once the EU can isolate Hungary or Poland that they will eventually seek to “break” other European nation states.

The Baltic states, Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Bulgaria and Romania must not remain silent or they could be the next targets. They must realize that both a strong Hungary and Poland are vital for the whole CEE region.
