EU overreach non-stop. This time it targets Denmark regarding asylum.
– EU commission takes a stand against the Danish plan to transfer asylum procedures outside of Europe…claims it violates EU law.
Denmark has certain opt-out clauses. The EU’s real aim is to try to intimidate other EU states contemplating this common-sense procedure.
– Ylva from Sweden, EU migration minister, warned it could create a “knock-on effect to neighboring EU countries” like Germany and Sweden.
“A system aiming for external processes outside the EU instead of protecting the right to apply for asylum in the EU would send a strong and wrong signal to the outer world,” she said.
😂 Ylva, come on, enough of the nonsense. The EU already sent the wrong message. Plus, Germany and Sweden already created the “knock-on effect” with their rich benefits and welcome culture.
– The European Commission had earlier said such outsourcing was illegal under EU law, noting it guaranteed the fundamental right to asylum.
However, Denmark’s special opt-outs on EU asylum are proving tricky.
“This would be difficult to challenge on the basis of EU law,” said Catherine Woollard, secretary-general of the Brussels-based NGO European Council on Refugees and Exiles (Acre).
She said Johansson’s message was also directed at other EU states flirting with similar ideas.
The EU is like quicksand, quickly suffocating the European nation-state.
Long-term, one cannot maintain its sovereignty, culture, or way of life as an EU ‘member state’.
The EU just keeps grabbing more power to meddle in the internal affairs of the nation-state.
