EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, says the world would “collapse” without the European Union.
Did Donald Tusk put something into Mogherini’s coffee or is she really this vain and delusional?
Mogherini’s therapy session included this quote: “Close your eyes and imagine for one moment the European Union disappeared from the global scene right now. The world would simply collapse.”
The world would simply collapse? Did Europe not exist before the EU?
Mogherini and the other disciples of Brussels are out of touch with reality and intoxicated with delusions of grandeur. The only thing that would collapse would be Mogherini’s career, along with the way of life of all the other opportunists who feed off the system in Brussels.
Europe and “the world” would move on.
– Many Eurocrats were stunned after a shocking poll by a pro-EU “think tank” (an amusing term, considering it is funded by the EU) revealed this week that two-thirds of Europeans questioned said they do not believe life would be worse without the EU and half regarded the EU as an “irrelevant” project.
According to Express UK, the poll also pointed to a wide divide between the V4 and Central-Eastern European (CEE) nation states and the West EU bloc.
While the V4/CEE states want the EU to focus on economic growth, both the Western and Northern regions want the EU to be a force promoting “values and democracy”.
Brussels-based journalist Luc Rivet told RT that this spelled “the end of the love story of Europeans with Europe”. (Actually, Rivet should be careful not to confuse the EU with Europe, this is simply incorrect.)
He said: “People want their borders back because they see that European borders don’t function after four years of problems.”
Again, Rivet misses the point. It is not the European borders that don’t function; rather, those in charge of making sure the borders function as borders have surrendered without a fight.
Our question: Why are EU bureaucrats like Mogherini surprised at these polls questioning the relevancy of the EU?
They may want to look in the mirror to find the answer to that question…or at least refrain from making such ridiculous and outlandish statements.
It is the EU which had lost the hearts and minds of Europeans.
