The project will create about 2,500 jobs and is scheduled to be completed next year.
The plant will make batteries for electric cars and be run by LG Chem Wrocław Energy, a subsidiary of the South Korean corporation LG.
It will operate as part of a special economic zone in Kobierzyce near the city of Wrocław.
