Germany’s Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen wants to develop a system that programs the “EU Defence Union” to instruct Europeans when to use their “forces”.
Speaking on Uncut with Daniel Cohn-Bendit, von der Leyen declared: “The structures that have been ‘sleeping’ for a long time inside the Treaty of Lisbon – now we have activated them.”
“That means we now have a legal framework for a European Defence Union, we have a joint planning process, so that as Europeans we can also develop a structure that tells us when we are going to use our forces.”
Wow, some leaders of Germany believe they are modern-day Gods.
This is a recipe for disaster. What happened to national armies commanded by leaders who are actual citizens of that country? How comfortable are the European nation states with the leaders of Berlin and Brussels developing a system that programs Europeans when to use their forces?
Considering EU Institutions always expand beyond their original scope, what will this Defence Unit look like 20 years down the road?
This must be resisted. This type of power vested in a global superstate is ripe for abuse. Many have seen its consequences in the past.
The bureaucrats and technicians of global governments preaching the “values” of a superstate will always push to expand its scope and power. Many enjoy ruling over others…and will resort to extreme measures to maintain this power.
Brussels is out of control.
