Greece failing to send migrants back to Turkey or does one percent count? 😬
The V4 Report remembers well the Merkel-Erdogan Pact, in which all “irregular” migrants reaching Greece via Turkey by sea would be sent back to Turkey.
We knew this was a farce, but one percent is even worse than we expected. 🤨
– The new report mentions that, in 2018, only 322 incoming migrants (a mere one percent – that’s 1%) were returned to Turkey, in accordance with the common statement’s provisions and that the repatriation rate is not expected to increase significantly in 2019. (Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia feel the pressure as a result.)
It can’t exactly go any lower than 1%…or, well, who knows, this is Greece and Tsipras (PM) we are talking about.
It also says that Syrians constitute only 7% of the new arrivals.
Germany has regarded the agreement with Turkey as the lynchpin of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s migration policy. To that effect, Welt Am Sonntag says, German security circles regard the agreement as “failed,” at least where readmission is concerned.
What took them so long to figure this out? Maybe, the Grand Coalition needs to start reading the V4 Report. We could have told them this years ago. 😂😎👇👇
