This reminds the V4 Report of how Matteo Salvini once sent von der Leyen’s German rescue teams on ‘wild goose chases’ in the Med. Soon Germany withdrew from the mission in Italy due to a lack of action.
“The Italian command has sent our navy to the most far-flung corners of the Mediterranean Sea over the past nine months, where there are no smuggling routes and no routes for refugees,” von der Leyen told reporters in Davos, Switzerland. The German deployment “has had no sensible tasks for months.” 👇

Greece seems to be adopting a similar tactic…as the Danish coast guards in the EU border agency, FRONTEX, are being moved away from the most active migrant zones in the Mediterranean because they refuse to apply push-backs to turn away illegal migrant boats.
Good for Greece. 👍

The linked article below is quite amusing. The Brussels Times desperately tries, but fails miserably, to try to explain how borders can be defended without pushbacks.
Their answer is not based on reality…just read this 😂: “In this regard ‘early warning’ technology is an important factor because it can ensure better utilization of crew and resources. Simply put, it is about monitoring the coastline on the Turkish side so that boats of migrants can be identified before they set sail, and the Turkish coast guards can detain them in agreement with the arrangements between the EU and Turkey.”
Yes, that’s it…if Greece just warns the Turkish Coast Guard, all will be well. The Turks will stop them before they set sail. 👌🤦‍♂️

It’s all so simple and enshrined in the EU-Turkey agreement…just like the return of all illegals from Greece to Turkey. 😉

Ok, so who says Brussels is without humor?

In the meantime, the V4 Report still awaits the answer from the anti-pushback brigade on how one stops aggressive illegals from entering without pushbacks?
