Migrants from countries like Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria are said to be numerous among the other nationalities gathered at the border.

“We saw on Whatsapp and Facebook messages that say the doors are open between Turkey and Greece,” one of the Moroccans said and added: “So we came to try to go to France, or to Germany”.

Very few (4%) are from Syria. Even Turks fleeing Turkey (5%) were a larger group than Syrians.

* But the V4 Report has two other troubling questions:

1. If others can discover so easily the nationality of the migrants, why do many EU governments use the excuse that they cannot deport the migrants because they do not have documents?

With today’s technologies and intelligence techniques, it is not hard to extract the country of origin from the new arrival.

2. If the migrants are attracted to Germany and France 🤑, why are not both countries slashing the benefits that attract the migrants? Why are they failing so badly at deporting a meaningful number of migrants outside of Europe.

While most North Africans have their asylum claims rejected, few who are rejected in Germany are actually deported.

A 2017 report from the German government claimed that of the 8,363 migrants from North Africa who were rejected for asylum claims, just 368 were actually deported in 2016. That’s just 4-5%!

** Most probably already realize the answer to these questions…a lack of will, determination and courage.
