Internal debate in Poland regarding EU recovery plan

To be frank, the V4 Report supports the position of Solidarna Polska (United Poland), led by Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro.
We opposed this EU monstrosity from the start, believing it represents another step towards a federal EU and expands the scope of Brussels. Whatever short-term benefits, we believe it will have negative long-term implications for the sovereignty of the European nation-state.
We do not believe in “more EU”…this never works out well or as intended. Brussels has an insatiable appetite for power; if one is against expanding the scope of Brussels, it is not wise to keep feeding the beast with ever-increasing budgets. Eventually, the beast will overwhelm the nation-state.

Ziobro also led the charge to exit the Istanbul Convention, but PM Morawiecki seems to have held this up, at least for now. One cannot appease Brussels either. They will keep attacking until one submits to their every demand.
We have been disappointed with Morawiecki on several fronts since his enthusiastic support for the von der Leyen Commission in 2019. Advocating “more EU” with “great” budgets while claiming to defend the interests of the nation-state is quite the slippery slope.

Whatever happened to those calls (pre- von der Leyen) regarding the upcoming epic battle between the EU superstate and the Nations of Europe? When has Brussels ever been downsized? Does one think this is possible with increasing EU budgets, even after Brexit?
Where is the resistance to more EU? And if not now…then when?
