Manfred Weber, leader of the EPP, will vote “Yes” to launch Article7 against Hungary.
The best site to follow on Twitter for news on the battle between Hungary and the EU Parliament is by far @otmarianna:
? Manfred Weber stresses NGOs and freedom of science (CEU issue) in connection with the Hungary report; the EPP will have a free vote, haven’t reached a consensus, EPP wants to keep the dialogue regardless of the result tomorrow. Personal standpoint: I will vote yes. ?
* The “Yes” vote from Weber is no surprise, considering he is one of the biggest political opportunists in Brussels. No one feeds off the system more than Weber, a professional Eurocrat who seeks to expand his own power by broadening the scope of Brussels.
Weber has already led the charge against Poland in the EU Parliament and now has received Merkel’s “blessing” to campaign to replace Jean-Claude Juncker.
The V4 Report strongly believes that the EPP must be severely weakened in the next elections. We believe the same regarding the CSU party in Bavaria.
The so-called “sisters” enable and provide cover for Angela Merkel while conveniently maintaining their positions of power. One party works to expand Germany’s influence in Brussels, while the other enables the Grand Coalition in Germany.
Both, in our opinion, remain obstacles to positive change and roadblocks for other conservative parties to emerge.
The EPP is a “dead end”. We think it’s time for Orban, Salvini, Poland, the FPO, Visegrad and other patriots in Central-Eastern Europe to form a new alliance – one not based on serving EU bosses, but a new and energetic force based on preserving the integrity of the nation states and fighting to defend the culture and way of life of the mainstream in Europe.
The time is now. Onwards!
