New EU navy operation to keep migrant details secret 🤔.

Update to the V4 Report’s post last week regarding the EU’s new ‘Irini Operation’ in the Mediterranean:

The EU’s new ‘Irini’ naval operation, off the Libyan coast, will not disclose how member states decide where to send migrants “rescued” at sea. Although primarily an arms embargo operation (a very ineffective one, largely for show in order to try to upgrade the EU’s weak image), any EU ship is obligated to pick-up any migrants in distress at sea. Some fear – like Sophia – that this will become a magnet for the NGOs and their migrant clients.

The deal was initially held-up because a Italy refused to grant entry to any migrants transferred, but the government of Greece agreed to this instead. No details where given regarding whether the illegals would stay in Greece or be resettled in another EU country. One can easily conclude, based on the past, that the migrants will not be deported outside of the EU.
