‘No, the European Union Doesn’t Need Its Own Army.’
* What a disaster this would be: The EU would shoot their own eyes out!
Who would lead this army? The EU Commission? 😂🙈
– French president Emmanuel Macron has renewed calls for the creation of a joint EU army. The proposal smacks of a desperate attempt to reverse the old European powers’ declining influence in global politics.
** Indeed, the EU is not respected in foreign policy; the various Commissions have been weak for decades…but another disturbing fact pointing to the EU’s economic decline (decreasing clout) may be prompting this desperate attempt by Macron and Von der Leyen for relevancy. 👇
“…in the one field where the EU is actually still a global player — the economic terrain — it is in decline. In 1981, the economies that today make up the Eurozone still accounted for 21 percent of global GDP. Today, that figure has fallen to 12 percent. According to a forecast by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the share will drop to 9 percent by 2050. Tellingly, the EU also lags behind the United States and China in key technologies such as quantum computing, semiconductors, cloud computing, and the like.”
*** For whatever reasons, and their are plenty, the eurozone is in decline and 90% of the worlds growth will occur outside the eurozone in the next century.
The EU project, as a result of decades of dysfunctional leadership and over-reach, is crashing and burning.
The future is not the EU.
