Romania the new ‘base’ camp for illegal Afghans heading West.
With Croatia closed off, the Afghans have placed their bets on Hungary.
This is probably an unwise bet.
The once luxurious mansion in Timisoara has become ‘base camp’, a place to regroup and recharge batteries before setting out for the Hungarian border, over and over again.
Nine out of 10 entered Romania illegally, from Serbia. Afghans make up the largest national contingent, followed by Syrians, Pakistanis, and Iraqis.
Romania knows the illegals will not stay. While Hungary defends Europe, Romania is providing a base camp where the illegals can “regroup and recharge” on their ‘journey’ to the so-called rich parts of the EU.
