The EU targets Italy for sanctions. Who’s next?

* Update: The European Union announced it will look to sanction Italy with a fine after the country refused to submit a budget proposal that squares with its rules.

Months ago, after Brussels targeted Hungary and Poland, we asked, “Who will be the next target?”

In addition, UN investigative teams are now calling Italy racist and xenophobic for its decision to secure the borders and to combat the open-border NGOs and mass migration. (More on that later.)

The V4 Report posted on this issue a few weeks ago. It appears a vengeful French Eurocrat is leading the attack.

Economic Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici, who is French and had slandered Salvini earlier with comparisons to Mussolini, said, “The Italians have… chosen a resolutely euroskeptic and xenophobic government that, on issues of migration and budget, is trying to get out of its European obligations.”

Those French Eurocrats love to pontificate but France, like the EU, is weak and their influence is shrinking. We believe Matteo Salvini will answer the bell for Italy. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, the V4 Report would strongly advise the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and others to stay away from the poison pill of the euro.
